One of the things I note while shooting this sequence is the genuine friendship between Mistress Avalon and her Slave that goes beyond role-playing (#5, #6). Obviously Mistress Avalon supplies a psychological need to her Slave; furthermore, Mistress Avalon enjoys giving pain (#7, #8, #9). Is his submission related to her youth? Is it related to his being in a daytime position of power in the workplace? Does this give him a sense of letting go? Is this psychological R&R (#10)?
Mistress Avalon notices a vintage buggy whip on my studio wall that I had bought in Amish country. She smiles and asks to use it. I wonder how many more slaves will have their skin ripped open by this artifact.

Finally she straightens him (#22), and still on his knees, I believe he thanks his Mistress for the beating he has received, bowing before her (#23, #24).
